Make sure your printer is powered on

Unpack the printer and remove any packaging or tape.
Check for components such as the power cord, ink cartridges (or toner), and any installation manuals

Plug the power cord into an outlet and connect it to the printer.
Turn on the printer. Some models may have a setup screen that walks you through initial steps.

Open the printer cover, usually at the top or front, and locate the cartridge holder.
Insert the ink or toner cartridges according to the instructions. Color printers will have slots for each color cartridge.

Pull out the paper tray and load paper, adjusting the guides to fit the paper size.
Make sure the paper fits well without bending.

There are a few ways to connect a printer:

Wireless (Wi-Fi) Connection:
- Use the printer’s display screen to select the Wi-Fi setup option.
- Connect to your Wi-Fi network by entering the Wi-Fi password.
- You may need to install a driver on your computer. Most printers provide a website to download the driver, manufacturer’s site.
USB Cable Connection:
- Connect the printer directly to your computer using a USB cable.
- Your computer should recognize the printer and prompt you to install any necessary drivers.
Wired Network Connection (Ethernet):
- Connect the printer to your router via an Ethernet cable.
- This option is helpful if you want the printer on a network but without a Wi-Fi connection.

Install the printer driver/software on your computer, usually available on the manufacturer’s website.
Follow the on-screen prompts to complete installation.

Once setup is complete, print a test page to make sure everything is working properly.
Adjust settings as necessary, like print quality, orientation, and paper type.
